Tricia Helfer is a Canadian model and actress whose career encompasses television, film, and voiceover work. Helfer began her modeling career at age 17 after being discovered by a talent scout and gained international recognition by winning the Ford Models' Supermodel of the World Contest. Her modeling credits include campaigns for Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Givenchy, and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as covers for national publications such as ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Flare, and Vogue.
After a decade in fashion, Helfer transitioned to acting, relocating to Los Angeles and securing roles on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and the series "Jeremiah" before earning a lead role in "Battlestar Galactica." Helfer is best known for her Leo Award-winning performance as the humanoid Cylon Number Six in the Syfy series "Battlestar Galactica." Due to the unique nature of the Number Six character, Helfer portrayed multiple versions of the role, each with distinct personalities. She reprised the role in "Battlestar Galactica: The Plan," a television movie that presents the series from the Cylons' perspective.
Following "Battlestar Galactica," Helfer expanded her acting portfolio with leading roles in independent features such as "Memory," opposite Dennis Hopper and Billy Zane, and "Walk All Over Me," alongside Leelee Sobieski. Her film and television work includes appearances in "Bombshell," guest roles on series such as "Creepshow" and CBS's "S.W.A.T.," and roles in two Hallmark Channel movies. Helfer also portrayed the wife of God in the series "Lucifer" and had a recurring role on the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men."
Helfer has contributed voiceover work to major video game franchises, including Commander Veronica Dare in "Halo: ODST," EDI in "Mass Effect 2," and Sarah Kerrigan in Blizzard Entertainment's "StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty," for which she received the VGA for Best Performance by a Human Female. Her voice talent is also featured in animated productions such as Cartoon Network's TV movie "Green Lantern: First Flight," Disney XD's "The Spectacular Spider-Man" and "TRON: Uprising," and Adult Swim's "Rick and Morty."
Helfer is active in philanthropy. She co-founded the charity website Acting Outlaws with former co-star Katee Sackhoff, supporting various causes and charity events. She is an advocate for animal welfare, supporting organizations such as Humane World, Best Friends Animal Society, and PETA.
