Trey Wingo is a prominent figure in American sports broadcasting, with more than two decades at ESPN. Wingo began his career as a sports producer for NBC's News at Sunrise in New York and worked as a page for NBC at Rockefeller Center, contributing to shows such as Late Night with David Letterman and Saturday Night Live. He developed his skills at local television stations, serving as a sports anchor and reporter at KSDK-TV in St. Louis, a sports anchor at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and sports director at WMGC-TV in Binghamton, New York. During this period, Wingo earned six Mid-America regional Emmy Awards for reporting, including three consecutive years for outstanding sports reporting.
Wingo joined ESPN as an ESPNEWS anchor and became the host of NFL Live, establishing himself as a central voice in ESPN's year-round NFL coverage. Wingo became co-host of the ESPN Radio morning show with Mike Golic, succeeding Mike Greenberg, and appeared with Bob Ley on the September 11 segment of SportsCenter to announce the postponement of NFL games. He has also contributed his voice and likeness to video games such as ESPN NFL 2K5, NFL Head Coach, and NFL Tour, reflecting his influence in sports media and gaming.
After concluding his tenure at ESPN Radio, Wingo joined Pro Football Network as an equity partner, brand ambassador, and content provider. At PFN, he hosts the podcast "More than Football: A Trey Wingo Podcast," exploring various aspects of football and sports culture. Off the air, Wingo is active in charitable initiatives, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation's Athletes for a Cure campaign, The V Foundation for Cancer Research, and Special Olympics.
