Trent Williams

Trent Williams is an American football offensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. A standout at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned All-American honors, Williams was selected fourth overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by Washington.

Widely regarded as one of the premier offensive linemen of his generation, Williams earned seven consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2012 to 2018 and added additional honors in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, after being traded to San Francisco, he posted a 91.9 Pro Football Focus grade, ranking first at his position, and was named to his eighth Pro Bowl.

Williams did not play during the 2019 season following a dispute with Washington stemming from the handling of a cancerous growth on his scalp. The growth was later diagnosed as dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a rare and potentially life-threatening form of cancer. After surgical removal and a prolonged standoff with the team, he was traded to the 49ers in April 2020, reuniting with head coach Kyle Shanahan.

In March 2021, Williams signed a six-year, $138.06 million contract extension with San Francisco, at the time making him the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history. He earned his ninth Pro Bowl selection that season.
