Travis Porter

Travis Porter is an Atlanta-based Southern hip-hop trio composed of stepbrothers Lakeem Ali Grant and Donquez Quez Woods, along with their longtime friend Harold Strap Duncan. The group, originally formed as the Hard Hitters, adopted the name Travis Porter and began building a fanbase through extensive touring across the United States and internationally.

Travis Porter gained recognition through viral YouTube videos and mixtapes, pioneering a high-energy style of party rap that emphasizes club anthems, twerking culture, and Southern trap influences. Their early releases include the mixtapes "Who Is Travis Porter?", "I'm a Differenter", "I'm a Differenter 2", and "Streets R'Us." The group was recognized as Myspace's top unsigned group and appeared at major events such as Birthday Bash and on The Mo'Nique Show.

The trio released the biographical film "Proud to Be a Problem" and signed with Jive Records, releasing the debut single "Make It Rain," which entered the Billboard Hot 100. Subsequent singles "Bring It Back" and "Ayy Ladies" also charted, with "Ayy Ladies" achieving triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. These singles led up to the debut studio album "From Day 1," which peaked at number 16 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the Top Rap Albums chart.

Travis Porter starred in the movie "Red Rock," portraying a fictionalized version of themselves as an up-and-coming hip-hop trio. The group continued to release mixtapes and albums, including "Travy Estates: Back on Bullsh*t."

A resurgence in popularity occurred when the track "Cake (Lil Stripper Girls)" went viral on TikTok, introducing Travis Porter to new audiences and increasing demand for live performances, including a dedicated HBCU homecoming tour. With a catalog spanning more than a decade, Travis Porter remains a prominent act in Atlanta's party rap and Southern hip-hop scene, known for energetic performances and influential club anthems.
