Tom Saler

Tom Saler is a financial columnist and author known for writing about investment strategies and personal finance. His “Historical Perspectives” column has appeared in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for 30 years and was named "Best Column" in the Milwaukee Press Club's 2016 and 2022 Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism competitions.

He has also written articles for such financial publications as Barron’s, Bloomberg Personal Finance, Bloomberg Wealth Manager, Better Investing, Mutual Funds, Individual Investor, Consumer's Digest, Consumer Reports, Your Money, and Institutional Investor. Saler has co-authored a script for the “Secrets of the Great Investors” series narrated by Louis Rukeyser, taught investment classes at Marquette University, and been a guest on the "Today"​ show, CNN, and NPR. He is also the author of four books.

For financial firms, Saler writes and edits white papers, commentaries, and shareholder reports. He has worked with the Burish Group, Northern Trust, Delaware Investments, Federated Investors, ING Funds, Freemont Funds, Hartford Investment Management, Neuberger Berman, MFS Funds, Pioneer Funds, Red Granite Advisors, Robert W. Baird, Brandes Investment Partners, Citizens Funds, Trivent Financial Services, USAA Financial Services, and the Vanguard Funds.

Saler is also the author of "Company Town," a forthcoming novel about the exploitation of nonhuman animals and the environment in industrialized agriculture.
