Tom Rinaldi Biography
Veteran journalist Tom Rinaldi joined FOX Sports in January 2021, reporting across the network’s live event portfolio and serving as lead reporter on FOX NFL’s top game each week.
Throughout his career, Rinaldi has covered major sporting events, including the Super Bowl, College Football Playoff National Championship, Masters, Wimbledon, the Olympics, NBA, and more. He came to FOX Sports from ESPN, where he was a top correspondent from 2002, reporting on football, basketball, golf, tennis, and other marquee events.
Known for his storytelling, Rinaldi’s feature "Carry On" won a national Edward R. Murrow Award, and he has earned 17 Sports Emmy Awards and seven Edward R. Murrow Awards, with more than 40 Emmy nominations across five categories. He is also the author of the New York Times bestseller "The Red Bandanna: A Life, A Choice, A Legacy," chronicling the heroic actions of Welles Crowther during 9/11.
Rinaldi has interviewed some of sports’ biggest names, including Serena Williams, Derek Jeter, Roger Federer, Kevin Durant, Jack Nicklaus, Nick Saban, and Mariano Rivera. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
