Tom Haynes

Tom Haynes is an Emmy Award-winning television news anchor whose career spans three decades in broadcast journalism at major networks. Haynes began as a production assistant for CNN's "Larry King Live," then moved to CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta, where he worked as a producer, reporter, and anchor.

During his tenure at CNN, Haynes covered significant global events, including the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the U.S.-led invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, live reporting from presidential election debates, and the Panama Canal handover. His assignments also included profiling undersea explorer Sylvia Earle during a deep-water dive in Dry Tortugas National Park and reporting live from Boston on Election Night.

Haynes later joined WSVN, FOX's Miami affiliate, where he anchored evening newscasts and reported on the Atlantic hurricane seasons that impacted Florida and the Gulf Coast. He then joined FOX 5 Atlanta, anchoring FOX 5 News at 5 p.m. and News Edge at 11 p.m. At FOX 5, Haynes has covered major elections, field anchored from storm-damaged areas, reported during the collapse of I-85, and anchored live from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, following a school shooting.

Haynes has received national recognition for his work, including an Emmy Award, a Beacon Award for hosting a live town-hall meeting after a presidential debate, and a Prism commendation for the CNN series "Drugs: Perceptions, Realities."
