Tom Bissell Biography
Tom Bissell is a prolific and multiple award-winning writer, working across multiple mediums such as television, film, books, journalism, and video games. He is best known as the author of eleven books, including the New York Times-bestselling "The Disaster Artist" (adapted by Neustadter/Weber for Warner Bros) and "God Lives in St. Petersburg" (winner of the prestigious Rome Prize). His short story "Aral" was adapted into "Salt & Fire," which Werner Herzog directed, starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Michael Shannon. Another short story, "Expensive Trips to Nowhere," was adapted into the feature "The Loneliest Planet," also starring Gael Garcia Bernal.
Bissell has also written or co-written numerous action video games, for which he won a WGA Award, including "Gears of War: Judgment," "Battlefield Hardline," "Uncharted 4," "Uncharted: Lost Legacy," "What Remains of Edith Finch," "Gears of War 4," and "Gears 5."
On the screenwriting front, Bissell recently created an untitled series for Lucasfilm and co-created "The Mosquito Coast" (Apple). He also recently worked with Tony Gilroy on season 2 of "Andor: A Star Wars Story," to which he contributed the final three episodes.
