Tituss Burgess

Tituss Burgess is an actor and singer known for his versatility across stage, screen, and voice performance. An Emmy and SAG-nominated actor, musician, and writer, Burgess has established a diverse career in television, film, and theater. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and began his career in regional theater and at Walt Disney World before moving to Broadway.

Burgess made his Broadway debut in the musical "Good Vibrations" as Eddie, followed by roles in "Jersey Boys" as Hal Miller and originating the role of Sebastian the Crab in the Broadway musical "The Little Mermaid." He also portrayed Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the revival of "Guys and Dolls" and became the first male actor cast as The Witch in "Into the Woods," with approval from the show's creators.

Burgess gained widespread recognition for his role as Titus Andromedon on the Netflix comedy series "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," for which he received five Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He reprised this role in the Netflix interactive special "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend" and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor.

In addition to his television work, Burgess is an accomplished voice actor, starring in the animated musical comedy series "Central Park" for Apple TV+, which earned him a sixth Emmy nomination. He played Rooster Hannigan in the NBC special "Annie Live!" and served as the Narrator in the second season of the Apple TV+ musical comedy series "Schmigadoon!" Burgess also voiced Sunny in "Spellbound," Netflix's animated musical fantasy film.

Burgess has continued to take on theatrical roles, returning to Broadway in "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" as Harold Zidler and starring as Mary Todd Lincoln in the Broadway production of "Oh, Mary!" He also co-hosted "The Tony Awards: Act One." Burgess's career spans musical theater, television comedy, and animated voice acting, making him a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
