Tisha Campbell

Tisha Campbell-Martin is an actress, singer, and entertainer with a career spanning more than four decades in film, television, music, and theater. Campbell-Martin began her on-screen career as a child on "The Big Blue Marble" and made her feature film debut at age 17 in "Little Shop of Horrors" as Chiffon. After graduating from Arts High School in Newark, she starred in the NBC series "Rags to Riches" and appeared in Spike Lee's "School Daze." She earned a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female for her role as Sidney in the comedy film "House Party," a character she reprised in the sequels "House Party 2" and "House Party 3."

Campbell-Martin gained national recognition through her television work, starring as Gina Waters-Payne in the Fox comedy series "Martin" and as Janet Jay Marie Johnson-Kyle in the ABC comedy series "My Wife and Kids" opposite Damon Wayans Sr. For her performance in "My Wife and Kids," she received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series. During her time on "Martin," Campbell-Martin released her self-titled debut album, which included the Top 40 dance single "Push." Her work in both comedic and dramatic roles, along with her music career, established her as a prominent figure in Black entertainment.

After "My Wife and Kids," Campbell-Martin continued to expand her portfolio with regular roles on "Rita Rocks" and "The Protector" on Lifetime, as well as "Dr. Ken" on ABC. She appeared in "Outmatched," "Uncoupled," "Craig of the Creek," and "Inside Job." Additional projects include "Operation: Aunties" and "Mary J. Blige Presents Be Happy," further demonstrating her ongoing presence in the entertainment industry. In 2026, she returned to Lifetime as the star, executive producer, and writer of the new original film "One Last Shot."

In addition to her on-screen work, Campbell-Martin has addressed personal health challenges, including a diagnosis of sarcoidosis, a rare inflammatory disease affecting her lungs. She has spoken publicly about her recovery, emphasizing emotional wellness, stress management, and holistic care. Campbell-Martin co-founded Colored My Mind, a nonprofit organization focused on increasing autism awareness in communities of color, inspired by her experience as a parent of a child with autism. Through this initiative, she works to combat stigma, promote inclusive education, and support families navigating similar experiences. Campbell-Martin is recognized for her contributions to acting, music, health advocacy, and autism awareness.
