Tim Lincecum

Tim Lincecum is a former professional baseball pitcher recognized for his decade-long career with the San Francisco Giants. Lincecum established himself as a standout in Major League Baseball (MLB) with his unique pitching style and significant contributions to the Giants' pitching rotation.

Before joining the major leagues, Lincecum built a notable amateur record at the University of Washington. He finished his junior season with a 12-4 record, a 1.94 ERA, and 199 strikeouts in just over 125 innings. Lincecum was named a first-team College All-American and received the Golden Spikes Award, which is given annually to the top amateur baseball player in the United States. He set the Pac-10 career strikeout record and became the first Washington Husky selected in the first round of an MLB Draft when the San Francisco Giants chose him tenth overall.

Lincecum quickly rose to prominence in MLB. As a key member of the San Francisco Giants, Lincecum contributed to three World Series championships. He was the winning pitcher in both the opening and final games of the Giants' first World Series title. Lincecum threw no-hitters in consecutive seasons against the San Diego Padres, joining a select group of pitchers with multiple Cy Young Awards who have achieved this feat. Over his career, he recorded 1,736 strikeouts and ranked among the fastest pitchers in MLB history to reach the 1,000-strikeout milestone.
