Tim Howard

Tim Howard is recognized as one of the most accomplished American soccer players, known for his career as a goalkeeper in Major League Soccer, the Premier League, and international competition. Howard began his professional journey in MLS as a teenager, earning MLS All-Star and Best XI honors and being named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year at age 22.

Howard's performances in MLS led to his transfer to Manchester United in the Premier League, where he served as the first-choice goalkeeper in his debut season and contributed to the club's Charity Shield and FA Cup victories. He later joined Everton, making 414 appearances over nearly a decade and establishing himself as a key figure for the club. Howard returned to MLS with the Colorado Rapids, helping the team reach the MLS Western Conference Championship.

Internationally, Howard made 121 appearances for the U.S. Men's National Team, setting a record for the most saves in a World Cup match and earning the FIFA Confederations Cup Golden Glove Award. He was twice named U.S. Soccer Male Athlete of the Year and was voted CONCACAF Goalkeeper of the Year multiple times. Howard was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame on the Player Ballot.

Off the field, Howard has been open about living with Tourette syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder, serving as a spokesperson for the Tourette Syndrome Association of New Jersey and receiving the MLS Humanitarian of the Year Award. He authored the autobiography "The Keeper: A Life of Saving Goals and Achieving Them," which details his experiences in professional soccer and with Tourette syndrome.

Howard works as a studio analyst for NBC Sports' English Premier League coverage and is part of the Houston Dynamo FC ownership group. He also co-hosts a podcast with Landon Donovan and frequently speaks about overcoming adversity, mental health in sports, and strategies for success in professional soccer, including the impact artificial intelligence can have in sports.
