Tiga

Tiga (born Tiga James Sontag) is a Canadian DJ, producer, and electronic music tastemaker known for his influential role in shaping global dance music culture. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Tiga grew up immersed in music and nightlife, eventually becoming a central figure in the city’s underground club scene. His early work as a DJ and promoter helped establish Montreal as a key hub for electronic music in North America.

Tiga first gained international recognition with his 2001 cover of "Sunglasses at Night," a reimagining of the Corey Hart classic that became a club hit and introduced his sleek, electro-infused sound to a wider audience. He went on to release his debut album, Sexor, in 2006, which earned critical acclaim and won a Juno Award for Dance Recording of the Year. Known for blending electroclash, techno, and house, Tiga’s productions often combine dark, driving beats with playful, tongue-in-cheek vocals.

In addition to his solo work, Tiga is the co-founder of Turbo Recordings, a respected label that has launched and supported numerous electronic artists. His influence extends beyond the studio and stage, as he has curated events, remixed tracks for major artists, and maintained a reputation as a forward-thinking voice in electronic music.
