Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel is a German football manager recognized for his tactical approach and adaptability in professional football. Tuchel began his career as a defender, but a chronic knee cartilage injury ended his playing days at age 25. During his final year as a player, he started pursuing coaching while studying for a business degree. After his injury, Tuchel transitioned into coaching, initially working with youth teams, including the U14 team at VfB Stuttgart.

Tuchel advanced through the youth coaching ranks before taking his first senior management role at Mainz 05. At Mainz, he became known for his tactical flexibility, frequently adjusting formations to suit specific challenges while maintaining his coaching principles. Tuchel concluded his tenure at Mainz with a record of 72 wins, 46 draws, and 64 losses from 182 games, achieving a higher points record than Jürgen Klopp during his time at the club.

He later succeeded Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, guiding the club to a second-place finish in the Bundesliga in his first season. Tuchel secured his first senior trophy with Dortmund by winning the DFB-Pokal, marking the club's first major honor in five years.

Tuchel's managerial career continued at Paris Saint-Germain, where he worked with players such as Kylian Mbappé and Neymar. In his first season, he led PSG to the Ligue 1 title, and in his second season, the club achieved a domestic treble by winning Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Coupe de la Ligue, as well as reaching the UEFA Champions League final for the first time. Tuchel holds the highest win percentage of any manager in Ligue 1 history, winning 95 of 127 matches.

At Chelsea, Tuchel won the UEFA Champions League in his debut season and was named The Best FIFA Football Coach and UEFA Manager of the Year. He became the first manager to reach two consecutive UEFA Champions League finals with two different clubs. Tuchel later managed Bayern Munich, leading the team to a Bundesliga title.

Throughout his career, Tuchel has demonstrated tactical innovation, player development, and success in both domestic and European competitions.
