The Russo Brothers

The Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo, are American filmmakers known for directing and producing films and television series, often working as a team. They are particularly recognized for their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where they directed four films: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.” The latter became one of the highest-grossing films of all time. They also directed the mid-credits scenes in “Ant-Man” and “Captain Marvel,” as well as the post-credits scene in “Thunderbolts*.”

The brothers began their careers while studying at Case Western Reserve University and gained early recognition with the television series “Arrested Development,” for which they won a Primetime Emmy Award. Their Marvel films solidified their place in Hollywood, contributing significantly to the MCU’s global success.

In addition to directing, the Russos founded the production company AGBO, which has produced a range of films and series. Among their recent projects is the film “Cherry,” set in Cleveland, a city that has deeply influenced their creative perspective. Known for crafting distinct action styles tailored to individual characters and employing “shaky-cam” techniques, the Russo brothers have established a reputation for combining spectacle with grounded, character-driven storytelling.
