The Isaacs

The Isaacs are a family group in gospel and bluegrass music, with origins dating back to 1971 when the family began performing together. The group consists of mother Lily Isaacs, daughters Becky Isaacs Bowman and Sonya Isaacs Yeary, and son Ben Isaacs. Their background combines Lily Isaacs' heritage as the daughter of Holocaust survivors and her first-generation Christian faith, which shapes the group's musical and spiritual identity.

Following a personal loss that led Joe and Lily Isaacs to Christianity, the group shifted to performing bluegrass gospel music. They initially performed under names such as Calvary Mountain Boys and Sacred Bluegrass before adopting the family name, The Isaacs. As the children joined, the group evolved into its current lineup.

The Isaacs are known for their family harmonies and a sound that blends bluegrass, gospel, country, folk, and rhythm and blues. They perform with acoustic instrumentation and have collaborated with artists including Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, and Paul Simon. Ben Isaacs is also recognized as a producer, working with artists such as The Gaither Vocal Band and The Oak Ridge Boys, and has received multiple Grammy nominations and Absolutely Gospel Awards. Sonya Isaacs has written songs recorded by Trisha Yearwood, LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, and Vince Gill.

The group's discography includes albums such as "Big Sky," which earned a Dove Award for Country Album of the Year, "Nature's Symphony in 432," "The American Face," and "Praise & Worship: More Than a Hollow Hallelujah." The latter is their first praise and worship album, featuring reimagined versions of contemporary worship songs like "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)," "What a Beautiful Name," and "You Say," as well as the original track "(More Than a) Hollow Hallelujah." The album was accompanied by a TV special broadcast on UPtv, RFD-TV, TBN, and other networks. Several of their projects have received Grammy nominations for Best Roots Gospel Album and Best Roots Gospel Song.

The Isaacs have been recognized at numerous awards shows, including the Grammys and GMA Dove Awards, where they have collectively earned 19 Dove Awards. They have also received honors from the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, Singing News Fan Awards, and Inspirational Christian Country Awards. The group has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and was invited to become members by Opry member Ricky Skaggs. The Isaacs were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and have appeared on stages such as Carnegie Hall, CMA Fan Fest, the Michael W. Smith 35th Anniversary Event, The Huckabee Show, and the CMA Country Christmas special.

The Isaacs tour internationally, performing in countries including South Africa, Norway, Holland, Scotland, Ireland, Israel, Canada, and the Faroe Islands. They established The Isaacs Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting those in need in America and raising funds for causes in Israel, including Holocaust survivors, orphans, and lone soldiers. With more than five decades of experience, The Isaacs maintain a significant presence in American gospel and bluegrass music.
