Taylor Trensch

Taylor Trensch is a celebrated young actor whose career spans Broadway, Off‑Broadway, regional theater, and screen. A graduate of Elon University’s musical theater program, he made a splash early by winning the Denver Post Ovation Award in 2009 for his performance in the national tour of "Spring Awakening." His Broadway debut came in 2012 as Boq in "Wicked"; he continued to build a high-profile résumé with original Broadway roles including Michael Wormwood in "Matilda the Musical," Christopher Boone in "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," and Barnaby Tucker in the 2017 revival of "Hello, Dolly!" opposite Bette Midler.

In 2018, Trensch took on the emotionally demanding title role in "Dear Evan Hansen," stepping in as the first replacement after Ben Platt and earning praise for bringing a fresh, introspective interpretation to the character. He went on to play Dill Harris in Aaron Sorkin’s Broadway adaptation of "To Kill a Mockingbird" and the role of Mordred in the 2023 Lincoln Center revival of "Camelot." In 2025, Trensch earned his first Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his powerful portrayal of Skeets Miller in the Broadway revival of "Floyd Collins."

Trensch has appeared on television in "Law & Order: SVU" and "Evil," and in independent films like "Things Like This." He is also actively involved in Off‑Broadway productions, including "Safety Not Guaranteed," which earned him an Outer Critics Circle nomination.
