Taylor Jenkins Biography
Taylor Jenkins is the former Head Coach of the Memphis Grizzlies, where he served as the 13th head coach in the team's history from 2019 to 2025. In January 2020, Jenkins won his first Western Conference Coach of the Month Award after the Grizzlies went 11-4.
Before his time in Memphis, Jenkins was an Assistant Coach for the Milwaukee Bucks (2018-2019) and Atlanta Hawks (2013-2018). He helped the Bucks to a 60-22 regular season record and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals; in this season, Jenkins was also an Assistant Coach for “Team Giannis” in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game. In Atlanta, Jenkins helped lead the Hawks to four NBA Playoffs and an Eastern Conference Finals appearance (2014-2015); he was also an Assistant Coach for the 2015 Eastern Conference All-Star Team. Prior to becoming an Assistant Coach in the NBA, he was the Head Coach of the Austin Toros in the NBA D-League for the 2012-2013 season. As the Head Coach, Jenkins led the Toros to the NBA D-League Playoffs. Jenkins was also an Assistant Coach for the Austin Toros (2008-2012).
Jenkins was born in Dallas, Texas. He attended St. Mark’s School of Texas and later attended the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Jenkins graduated, earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics while concentrating in Management and minoring in Psychology. Jenkins and his wife, Chantall, have four children.
