Tavita Pritchard, currently the head football coach at Stanford University, began his journey in the world of football as a player during his college years at Stanford. His tenure as the starting quarterback for the Stanford Cardinal from 2007 to 2009 is remembered for a notable upset victory over USC in 2007. This early foray into leadership on the field laid the foundation for his future roles on the sidelines.
Upon concluding his playing career, Pritchard transitioned into coaching, starting as a graduate assistant at Stanford in 2010. His dedication and tactical acumen eventually led him to the position of offensive coordinator by 2018. Furthering his experience, he served as the quarterbacks coach for the Washington Commanders of the NFL from 2023 to 2025. Returning to his alma mater in November 2025, Pritchard succeeded Frank Reich as the head coach of the Stanford Cardinal football team.
