Tash Sultana is an Australian indie musician known for her fiery vocals and command of multiple instruments and looping pedals. From their early days busking on Melbourne’s streets to commanding global stages and amassing billions of streams, Sultana has forged a career built on innovation, authenticity, and undeniable talent.

The story began with a single spark: a guitar gifted by their grandfather at age three. From that moment, Sultana’s world became music. Over the years, they taught themselves to over a dozen instruments, becoming a one-person orchestra, whose groundbreaking looping skills would set them apart. They are even designing their very own loop station with a small, trusted team to take the technical pioneering to a whole new level. By 2016, their first release NOTION EP catapulted them to global stardom amassing millions of streams, gold and multi-platinum selling singles for Jungle and Notion along with live bedroom recordings that almost broke the internet. But it was their debut album Flow State that truly introduced the world to an artist with a vision like no other, spawning Platinum singles like Mystik and Gold-certified Murder to the Mind, Salvation, Free Mind, Cigarettes and counting.

In 2021, Sultana’s second album, Terra Firma, marked a new era of artistic growth. Debuting at #1 on the ARIA charts, it paired introspection with lush soundscapes, winning accolades like the Rolling Stone Australia Award for Best Single (Pretty Lady). The following year, their MTV Unplugged (Live in Melbourne) album offered fans an intimate glimpse into the artistry of an artist whose work is entirely self-produced, engineered, and mixed at their own Lonely Lands Studio. Sultana’s MTV unplugged was the most watched out of any artist in the Aus-pacific region getting picked up by multiple stations and streaming services so over 180 million people.

2023’s SUGAR EP named after trial-ing medication for their ADHD (artificial happiness) captured yet another layer of Sultana’s artistry. It was an experimental project that saw them approach music from a different place than ever before blending soundscapes and heartfelt more upbeat lyricism in tracks like James Dean and Bitter Lovers featuring BJ The Chicago Kid. Alongside this musical evolution, Sultana has expanded their role as a businessperson. Sultana is the founder of Lonely Lands Agency, Lonely Lands Studio and recently launched Lonely Lands Liquids and The I Am Me Foundation. Sultana has a focus on fostering new projects that reflect their passion for independence and authenticity.
