Tareq Amin

Tareq Amin is a Jordanian-American technologist and entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in digital transformation, telecommunications, and artificial intelligence. Amin began his career at Intel before holding senior roles at T-Mobile and Huawei. His career advanced significantly at Reliance Jio, where he led the rollout of India's 4G network, focusing on automation and scalability to serve hundreds of millions of users. At Rakuten Mobile, Amin, as chief technology officer, built the world's first fully virtualized, cloud-native mobile network using Open RAN technology, later serving as chief executive officer of Rakuten Symphony and Rakuten Mobile. In these roles, he guided Symphony's entry into the mobile market and introduced a large-scale, automation-driven platform for telecom operators worldwide.

Prior to joining HUMAIN, Amin was chief executive officer of Aramco Digital, where he led the Aramco subsidiary in advancing digital transformation and strategic innovation across Saudi Arabia. Amin was later appointed chief executive officer of HUMAIN, a full-stack artificial intelligence company owned by the Public Investment Fund and chaired by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. HUMAIN was launched with significant backing from the Public Investment Fund and has established partnerships with companies such as Nvidia, AMD, AWS, and Qualcomm. The company focuses on delivering AI-native platforms across four integrated layers: AI Infrastructure, AI Cloud, Data & Models, and Applications & Solutions. Notable initiatives include the development of Saudi Arabia's first AI Zone in Riyadh in partnership with AWS, featuring a data center designed to host hundreds of thousands of AI chips and provide enterprise-level access to foundation models. HUMAIN's flagship model, ALLAM, is an Arabic-first multimodal large language model, with the ALLaM 34B version trained on more than 500 billion Arabic tokens. The company's long-term plans include constructing large-scale data centers, equipping Saudi engineers with chip design capabilities, and establishing a significant presence in global AI training and inferencing.

Amin has been recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in AI and has appeared on AI Magazine's list of the Top 100 Leaders. He has also been named to Forbes Middle East's Top Tech Leaders list. Amin's vision for physical AI, where artificial intelligence interfaces with robotics and simulation, highlights HUMAIN's role in developing new applications across manufacturing, logistics, and energy sectors. He advocates for innovation sovereignty through architecture and intellectual property ownership, emphasizing the importance of these elements in the global AI industry.
