Tara Vasdani

Tara Vasdani is a Canadian lawyer and the managing partner and founder of Remote Law Canada, a law firm specializing in civil litigation, employment law, and remote work. Vasdani holds both common law and civil law degrees from the University of Ottawa, completed entirely in French, and is fluent in both official languages. She was among a select group of students to earn two law degrees in three years, providing her with expertise in both major Canadian legal systems. Before establishing her own firm, Vasdani worked at several major law firms in Canada, handling complex civil litigation matters at prominent downtown boutique firms.

Vasdani gained international attention early in her career as the first Canadian lawyer to serve a Statement of Claim using Instagram. The concept for Remote Law Canada was inspired by an Economist documentary about digital nomads, which highlighted the growing need for legal services tailored to remote work. Vasdani identified that many organizations lacked proper policies and procedures to implement remote work in compliance with legislation and regulations. She assists organizations in drafting enforceable remote work policies, health and safety checklists, and other essential documents to support legal remote, flexible, or hybrid operations. Vasdani works with business owners, employees, and legal technology companies to navigate legal obligations related to remote work.

Vasdani has received ongoing recognition in the legal industry, including multiple nominations for Canadian Lawyer's Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada.
