Sylvia Kwan

Dr. Sylvia Kwan is the CEO and chief investment officer at Ellevest, an investment advisory firm focused on providing wealth management and financial planning services tailored to women and their families. At Ellevest, Kwan leads the development of investment solutions, strategies, and proprietary algorithms that support both digital and private wealth advisory services. Her work has contributed to building a community of more than 3 million members, emphasizing financial resilience, independence, and impact investing aligned with women's financial needs.

With more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry, Kwan has held senior roles at firms including Charles Schwab and Financial Engines, where she was a founding member of the investments team and contributed to the development of scalable investment processes for assets under management. She also co-founded SimplySmart Asset Management, which provides customized global investment solutions for individual investors. Kwan serves on the boards of organizations such as Exit 182 Group, Lotus Campaign, and ADISA, and acts as an advisor to UniFi by CAIA.
