Suzy Kolber

Suzy Kolber is an American football sideline reporter, co-producer, and former ESPN sports anchor and reporter. Kolber began her career in local television and freelance production, earning a local Sports Emmy during her tenure at WTVJ-TV in Miami. Her freelance assignments included work as a reporter and producer for Breeders' Cup Newsfeed, field producer for Inside Edition in New York, sports specials producer for WCIX-TV in Miami, and producer and director for NFL Films. This behind-the-scenes experience provided Kolber with a multidimensional understanding of sports media that shaped her on-air presence.

Kolber was one of the original anchors of ESPN2 at its launch and was the first on-air person hired at the network. During her initial tenure, she served as an anchor on SportsCenter, a reporter on College GameDay, and co-host of the X Games. She later joined Fox Sports, where she anchored Fox Sports News for Fox Sports Net, reported from NFL games, and served as the lead reporter for the network's coverage of the NFL on Fox, working alongside Pat Summerall and John Madden. Kolber also served as studio host for the network's coverage of the NHL on Fox, including the Stanley Cup Finals and Playoffs.

Upon returning to ESPN, Kolber became a prominent NFL broadcaster, elevating the NFL sideline role during her 11 seasons covering NFL prime-time games on ESPN's "Sunday Night Football" and "Monday Night Football." She worked the sidelines for ABC Sports' broadcast of Super Bowl XL in Detroit and contributed to the network's pre-game show. As a member of the "Monday Night Football" team, Kolber contributed to the franchise's status as a highly viewed program in cable television history. She later became the host of "Monday Night Countdown," taking on the solo host role for the show as well as MNF halftime and postgame coverage.

Kolber's versatility extends beyond football. During NFL off-seasons, she served as a SportsCenter anchor and on-site host for ESPN's coverage of the French Open and Wimbledon. Her credits also include hosting Triple Crown horse racing events for ESPN and pre-race NASCAR Countdown shows on ABC. Kolber's football broadcast narrative is featured on the video game "ESPN NFL Football" for Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation 2, and she has served as a national television spokesperson for Chevrolet and Pepsi-Cola commercials.

Kolber is the first female recipient of the Maxwell Football Club's Sports Broadcaster of the Year Award and was named to Sports Business Daily's list of the 10 favorite sports TV personalities of the past decade. The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters honored her as a Gold Medal Honoree, and she is an inductee of the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. The Monday Night Football team, of which she was a key part, received recognition from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for excellence in live sports broadcasting. Throughout her career, Kolber has contributed to the evolution of sports journalism, providing insight on leadership, resilience, and the changing landscape of sports media.
