Supriya Ganesh is an actress whose career path includes a transition from neuroscience to the entertainment industry. Ganesh attended Columbia University, graduating with a degree in neuroscience and a minor in gender studies, originally intending to pursue medical school. She scored in the 99th percentile on the MCAT before shifting her focus to acting. Ganesh began auditioning for roles while still a student at Columbia University, making her screen debut on the CBS series "Blue Bloods." Shortly after graduating, she was selected as one of 16 actors in the ABC Showcase from a pool of more than 10,000 submissions.

Ganesh's scientific background contributed authenticity to her portrayal, as she had planned to attend medical school before being cast in "The Pitt" and continued to work as an MCAT tutor during the show's first season. She eventually left tutoring after students began enrolling in her classes primarily to meet her due to her role on the series.

The first season of "The Pitt" received 13 Emmy nominations and won awards in categories including outstanding drama series and outstanding lead actor in a drama series. Beyond television, Ganesh starred as Vaidehi in the world premiere of Deepak Kumar's "House of India" at the Old Globe Theatre.
