Sunny Bleau and The Moons

Sunny Bleau and The Moons is a Detroit-area indie pop blues band centered around the alto vocals of frontwoman Sunny Bleau and the talents of guitarist, composer, and producer Nicholas Cocco. The group is recognized for straightforward lyrics, dynamic performances, and a blend of influences spanning traditional blues, blues-rock, jazz, soul, pop, and country, resulting in a sound rooted in American musical tradition yet distinctively their own.

Sunny Bleau and The Moons have released four full-length studio albums. The debut album, "Breakfast Served Cold," achieved Top 10 Album status in Blues Music Magazine's Top 10 Albums of the Year, with four songs reaching number one on the singles charts. The second album, "Slow Burn," debuted at No. 4 on the Top 50 Blues Rock Album chart and No. 29 on the Top 50 United States Album chart, with several singles reaching No. 1 on the US singles charts. The third release, "Bag of Tracks," debuted at No. 26 on the Blues Rock Album charts and appeared in the top 40 worldwide album charts multiple times. The fourth album, "Passion and Regrets," was recorded in Memphis and produced by blues musician Mick Kolassa, featuring crafted lyrics and melodic instrumentation.

The band performs both as a duo and with a full ensemble, playing more than 60 shows annually across states including Michigan, Florida, Tennessee, and New York. Notable venues include The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Brauer House in Lombard, and Alfred's on Beale Street in Memphis. Sunny Bleau and The Moons have opened for Billboard artist Anthony Gomes and Blues Music Award winner Thornetta Davis, and Sunny Bleau was selected to perform at the National Women in Blues Showcase in Memphis. The band has also performed at the International Blues Challenge and National Women in Blues Showcase.

Through the "Blue Mojo Experience" tour, Sunny Bleau and The Moons have expanded their presence in Michigan, Illinois, Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana. The band's approach emphasizes storytelling, described as "storytellin' blues" that engages audiences and explores themes of life. With a growing discography, consistent touring, and a sound resonating with blues fans, Sunny Bleau and The Moons are recognized within the contemporary American blues scene.
