Stuart Holliday

Ambassador Stuart Holliday is the CEO of Meridian International Center, a non-partisan institution focused on advancing global security and prosperity through leadership and diplomacy. Under Holliday's leadership, Meridian serves as a hub for collaboration among government, private sector, and diplomatic communities, developing global leadership exchange and education programs. Holliday has positioned Meridian as a partner to the U.S. Department of State and international organizations, addressing issues such as security, economic development, emerging technologies, and global health through partnerships and initiatives.

Holliday's career in diplomacy includes serving as the United States Ambassador for Special Political Affairs at the United Nations, where he represented the United States on the Security Council and was responsible for policy on peacekeeping, sanctions, and counterterrorism. Before his UN appointment, Holliday held senior roles at the U.S. State Department, including coordinator of the Bureau of International Information Programs and principal deputy assistant secretary for public affairs. His experience also includes service at the White House, where he advised the president on national security appointments and contributed to staffing the first Office of Homeland Security following the September 11 attacks.

Holliday is a frequent speaker at global forums and serves as a trustee for organizations such as the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress and the Global Leadership Council of the U.N. Foundation. His expertise is informed by his service as a U.S. Navy intelligence officer, for which he received the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
