Steven Pearlman, Ph.D.

Steven Pearlman, Ph.D. is arguably the world’s foremost critical thinking expert. Having taught for over 30 years in higher education, Dr. Pearlman founded the United States’ first academic department solely focused on researching critical thinking and how to teach it. An authority on a diverse span of thinking-related topics, he can speak on critical thinking for leadership, teamwork, entrepreneurship, education, parenting, career advancement, social issues and politics, learning, communication, the age of A.I., including the dangers A.I. poses to critical thinking, how to outthink colleagues in an A.I. world, how to think critically about A.I. itself, and virtually any other arena of life.

Dr. Pearlman has been featured on the TEDx stage and in national and international media, including CBS Atlanta, The Hill, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Connecticut Today, NPR, Fox News Radio, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and has been interviewed on numerous podcasts. In addition to academic publications, he is the author of "America's Critical Thinking Crisis: The Failure and Promise of Education." An entrepreneur, Dr. Pearlman was a founding partner in StudentSuccess.org and has since founded The Critical Thinking Institute, which allows him to bring critical thinking to all areas of the public. Dr. Pearlman is also a 40-year martial artist and author of the book, "Martial Theory." He is most of all a devoted father to his son, Sam.
