Steve Hilton

Steve Hilton is a British-American political commentator, author, entrepreneur, and media personality whose career has included roles in government, business, and media in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Hilton studied philosophy, politics, and economics at New College, Oxford, before beginning a career that led him from Westminster to Fox News studios and California's political landscape. After working in politics, Hilton joined advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, later co-founding the Good Business consulting firm and the London restaurant The Good Cook. His advertising work included the "New Labour, New Danger" campaign for the Conservative Party, which received recognition from Campaign magazine.

Hilton returned to politics as head of strategy for former Prime Minister David Cameron, serving as a senior advisor in 10 Downing Street and focusing on domestic policy and party modernization. His unconventional approach, often described as "blue sky thinking," was noted for its impact on British political circles and was satirized by BBC comedy "The Thick of It."

After relocating to the United States, Hilton taught at Stanford University, including at the Institute of Design, and co-founded Crowdpac, a political crowdfunding platform designed to support independent candidates. He also served as a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution and as a scholar at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. As an author, Hilton wrote "More Human – Designing a World Where People Come First," a Sunday Times bestseller, and "Positive Populism – Revolutionary Ideas to Rebuild Economic Security, Family and Community in America."

Hilton hosted Fox News Channel's "The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton," providing political and technology analysis and commentary on right-wing populism. The program examined the populist movement in the United States and globally, featuring weekly expert panels. The show ran for more than 300 episodes before concluding as Hilton shifted focus to a California non-partisan policy organization.

Hilton later initiated Golden Together, a bipartisan research institute, with Lanhee Chen and Gloria Romero. He launched a campaign for California governor as a Republican candidate, emphasizing a non-partisan, results-driven approach to address issues such as the housing crisis, high taxes, education, homelessness, and business migration. Hilton's background, from his Hungarian refugee parents to his experience in British government and American media, informs his transatlantic perspective on politics, entrepreneurship, and media.
