Stephanie Hsu

Stephanie Hsu is an Academy Award-nominated actress recognized for her work across film, television, and theater. Hsu developed her craft at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, training with the Atlantic Theater Company and the Experimental Theater Wing. She began her career in experimental theater before moving to Broadway, where she originated the roles of Christine Canigula in "Be More Chill" and Karen the Computer in "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical." For her performance in "Be More Chill," she received Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk Award nominations.

Hsu expanded her presence in television by joining the recurring cast of the Amazon Prime series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" as Mei Lin, contributing to the ensemble that won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Her film career gained significant attention with her dual role in A24's "Everything Everywhere All at Once," portraying Joy Wang and the antagonist Jobu Tupaki. This performance earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress and recognition from numerous film critics' organizations. Hsu also received the Independent Spirit Award for Best Breakthrough Performance, as well as nominations for the Critics' Choice Award and the Screen Actors Guild Award. Following the film's success, she was invited to join the Academy as an actor.

On stage, Hsu played Janet in the Broadway revival of "The Rocky Horror Show" at Studio 54, which earned her a Tony nomination. Hsu's ongoing projects include work in animation and television, reflecting her versatility and influence in acting, theater, and film.
