Stacey David is an American television host, custom car builder, and automotive expert with extensive experience in vehicle modification, restoration, and hot rod fabrication. David's interest in mechanics began early, installing 440cc snowmobile engines into go-karts before adolescence and completing his first restoration—a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle—at age 12. Before entering television, David worked as a professional entertainer in Nashville, playing guitar on albums, touring with recording artists, and appearing in regional television commercials. He later opened Rattletrap Custom Shop in Nashville, specializing in metal fabrication, suspension work, custom paint, and engine building.

David's television career advanced when he was selected to host the series "Trucks!" on Spike TV, initially co-hosting with Mel Fair before becoming the sole host.
