Stacey Dales

Stacey Dales is a Canadian-American sports broadcaster and former professional basketball player whose athletic career provided the foundation for her work in sports media. At the University of Oklahoma, Dales played as a guard/forward for the Sooners women's basketball team, becoming the first player in program history to record 1,920 points, 721 rebounds, and 764 assists while earning two Kodak First-Team All-American honors. She was named Big 12 Conference Player of the Year in consecutive seasons and remains the Big 12 all-time career assist leader with 764. In her final collegiate year, Dales was named the all-sports Academic All-American of the Year. She was the program's first two-time First-Team All-American and led the Sooners to their first appearance in the national championship game, establishing her as a key figure in Oklahoma women's basketball.

Dales was drafted third overall in the WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics, the highest pick ever for a Canadian. Her international experience includes starting as point guard for Canada at the Summer Olympics in Sydney, where she averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game over six contests. Dales retired after five seasons in the WNBA due to Raynaud's phenomenon, a blood disorder in her hands, finishing her career with averages of 9.2 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.2 rebounds in 150 games.

Dales transitioned to broadcasting, serving as a men's and women's college basketball analyst and a sideline reporter for college football and the NBA on ESPN, where she became the first woman to work as an in-studio men's basketball analyst. She contributed columns and features on NCAA women's basketball for ESPN.com and served as an NCAA women's basketball analyst for CBS Westwood One radio, Sooner Sports Network, and CBS' NCAA women's basketball championship special.

Dales serves as a senior national reporter for NFL Media, joining NFL Network as a host and reporter, and regularly appears on "NFL Now," "NFL Total Access," and "NFL GameDay Morning." She has worked as a correspondent for NBC Universal Sports during the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and has served as a sideline reporter for TNT covering NBA games and for CBS covering NFL games. Fox Sports hired Dales as a color analyst for women's college basketball coverage. She was inducted into Brockville's Hall of Fame for her contributions to women's basketball and received the Distinguished Alumni award from the University of Oklahoma's College of Arts and Sciences. Dales' career encompasses athletic competition, broadcast journalism, and sports analysis, making her a prominent voice in sports media.
