Sriram Krishnan

Sriram Krishnan is an Indian-American technology executive, venture capitalist, and policy leader whose career spans major Silicon Valley companies and the U.S. government. Krishnan has held roles as a venture capitalist, podcaster, product manager, and author, building his early career by leading product teams at Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo!, Facebook, and Snap. He began at Microsoft as a founding member of the Windows Azure platform, contributing to advancements in cloud computing. At Facebook, Krishnan developed the Facebook Audience Network, a competitor to Google's advertising technologies, and at Twitter he led product and user experience, launching a redesigned home page and events experience while driving significant user growth.

Krishnan became a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, focusing on consumer and social markets and exploring the societal impact of deep technology. He later led the firm's London office, its first location outside the United States. Krishnan has mentored founders and invested in startups such as Figma and Notion. He has also worked with Elon Musk on the redevelopment of Twitter following Musk's acquisition of the company. In addition to his investment work, Krishnan and his wife, Aarthi Ramamurthy, launched "The Good Time Show" on Clubhouse, which evolved into "The Aarthi and Sriram Show" podcast. The podcast features conversations with technology leaders including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Virgil Abloh, and Steve Ballmer, and has achieved over one million downloads, establishing itself as a prominent technology podcast.

Krishnan was appointed Senior White House Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence, leading the United States' policy team on AI. In this role, he contributed to shaping federal AI strategy, advancing government adoption of artificial intelligence, guiding regulatory approaches for the private sector, and conducting international AI diplomacy. Krishnan participated in a U.S. technology policy delegation to the Middle East, negotiating the expansion of American AI technologies with international leaders.

Krishnan co-authored the American "AI Action Plan," which outlined strategies for maintaining U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence. He was recognized as a key figure behind the American executive order on AI and was named a Time Person of the Year as an "Architect of Artificial Intelligence." Krishnan has announced plans to leave his White House post to establish an institution focused on technology policy, while continuing to advise the administration. His career bridges Silicon Valley product innovation, venture capital, and national AI strategy, positioning him as a significant voice in the development of artificial intelligence policy and technology leadership in the United States.
