Spencer Rascoff

Spencer Rascoff is an entrepreneur and technology executive with a career spanning private equity, investment banking, and leadership in the real estate and technology sectors. After graduating from college, Rascoff worked as a private equity investor at TPG Capital and as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs before transitioning to startups. At age 24, Rascoff co-founded Hotwire.com, an online travel company later acquired by InterActiveCorp for $685 million. He then served as vice president of lodging for Expedia before co-founding Zillow.

At Zillow, Rascoff held multiple leadership roles, including chief operating officer, chief financial officer, and vice president of marketing, before being named chief executive officer. As CEO, Rascoff led Zillow’s growth into a major residential technology platform, expanding consumer access to home listings and price information. Under his leadership, Zillow acquired 15 companies, including Trulia, and grew from 200 to 4,000 employees, with annual revenue increasing from $30 million to $1.3 billion. The company received recognition as a top workplace and achieved significant market capitalization. Rascoff has been recognized by Fortune and Forbes as one of America's most powerful CEOs under 40 and is a recipient of the Ernst and Young National Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Glassdoor's Highest Rated CEO recognition.

Rascoff is also known for his work as an author and thought leader in the technology and real estate industries. He co-wrote the book "Zillow Talk: Rewriting the Rules of Real Estate," which became a New York Times bestseller. Rascoff is a frequent guest on CNBC and hosts the podcast "Office Hours," where he discusses leadership, company culture, and product strategy with other executives. He has served as a visiting executive professor at Harvard Business School, where he co-created and co-taught the course Managing Tech Ventures.

After his tenure at Zillow, Rascoff co-founded dot.LA, a news site focused on the California tech startup industry, and Pacaso, a real estate platform that facilitates shared ownership of second homes. He also launched 75 & Sunny Ventures, a startup studio and early-stage investment firm. Rascoff has served as an investor and advisor to technology companies, including board positions at Palantir, TripAdvisor, and Zulily.

Rascoff was appointed chief executive officer of Match Group, a Dallas-based company that operates dating apps such as Match.com, Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid, and Pairs. During his time at Match Group, he has overseen the implementation of artificial intelligence in product development and led efforts to reduce overhead, resulting in significant cost savings. The company’s stock performance improved under his leadership, with revenue exceeding estimations.
