Sophia Herod

Sophia Herod is a nature and science presenter, best known for her work with BBC Weather and BBC News. With experience across live television, radio, podcasts, and digital media, Herod brings a versatile and engaging approach to storytelling that makes science accessible and enjoyable for all audiences.

Combining her degree in Natural Hazards, encompassing Meteorology, Climate, Geology, and Astronomy, with her natural curiosity and warmth, Herod has developed a strong following online - her content on the planetary parade has reached over 35 million views across platforms.

Within the BBC, she has worked with various teams, including Countryfile, Newsround, Social, BBC Ideas and BBC Bitesize. She produced and presented a mini-series on planetary weather and co-hosted a global live broadcast on the lunar eclipse, where she interviewed guests and shared her expertise with audiences around the world.
