Sonia Leigh is an American country music singer-songwriter known for her Southern country and rock style, which incorporates elements of soul, blues, and folk. Leigh began her music career in Atlanta, Georgia, performing in local venues while working various jobs. Her career trajectory shifted after meeting Zac Brown, with whom she collaborated on several projects.

Leigh released three independent albums—"Remember Me," "Laundry," and "Run or Surrender"—before signing with Southern Ground Records. Her major label debut, "1978 December," featured the single "My Name Is Money," which reached No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album includes eight tracks written by Leigh and two co-written with Brown. Leigh also co-wrote the Zac Brown Band singles "Goodbye in Her Eyes" and "Sweet Annie," establishing her reputation as a songwriter in Nashville and the broader country music industry.

Following "1978 December," Leigh released the EP "Counting Skeletons" and the album "Mad Hatter," further demonstrating her versatility in country, Americana, and rock music. Her single "Thin Ice" was featured on Apple Music's New in Rock and Women Who Rock playlists. The album "Songs About Ghosts" showcases Leigh's return to her country and Americana roots, blending her influences with a distinct style. Leigh's performances are noted for their conviction and dynamic presence, contributing to her standing in American roots music.
