Shyla Raghav

Shyla Raghav is the chief climate officer at TIME and the co-founder of TIME CO2, where she leads the organization’s climate strategy and public engagement efforts. With more than 15 years of experience in climate change policy, international climate finance, and nature conservation, Raghav has contributed to global climate action. Her leadership at TIME includes launching initiatives such as the TIME CO2 Planet Portfolio, which channels funding into climate, nature, and community projects, and shaping the company’s climate programs and public events, including agendas for international climate summits.

Raghav’s career includes roles at organizations such as Conservation International, where she served as vice president of climate change, as well as the World Bank, Adaptation Fund, United Nations Development Programme, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. She has participated in international negotiations, including the Paris Agreement, and has developed tools and strategies to help countries integrate ecosystem-based solutions into climate policies. Her expertise in climate change adaptation and mitigation, along with her ability to communicate scientific concepts, has led to speaking engagements at major conferences and media appearances on CNN, Vice News, and Elle Magazine.

Raghav has been named an InStyle BadAss Woman, a Grist Top 50 Fixer, and an AAAS/IfTHEN Ambassador for women in STEM. She has also been featured in the Smithsonian’s #IfThenSheCan exhibit, highlighting her work in science communication and advocacy. Through public speaking, writing, and advisory roles, Raghav advances action and innovation in climate change, focusing on practical solutions and supporting the next generation of environmental leaders.
