Shoshana Rosenberg

Shoshana Rosenberg is an executive and corporate attorney specializing in artificial intelligence governance, privacy, and digital law. Rosenberg serves as senior vice president, chief AI governance and privacy officer, and deputy general counsel for digital, AI, intellectual property, and privacy at WSP USA. In this capacity, she has worked in emerging technology governance, privacy, and security for global professional services firms for more than 18 years.

Rosenberg is the creator of the PRISM AI governance framework, designed to support practical implementation by cross-functional teams. At WSP, she leads the development of "Explainability by Design" frameworks for ethical AI development. She advocates for the establishment and recognition of digital agency and understanding as a fundamental human right, which serves as a guiding principle for evolving legal frameworks in technology. Rosenberg contributes to NIST working groups and serves on multiple advisory boards, sharing insights on AI governance, privacy, and the intersection of technology with diversity, equity, and inclusion considerations.

In addition to her corporate role, Rosenberg is an entrepreneur and community builder in the AI and privacy sector. She is the co-founder of Women in AI Governance and a founding member and strategic programs advisor for Logical AI Governance, which provides training programs to help privacy and compliance leaders build and refine holistic AI governance programs. Rosenberg is also the founder of SafePorter, a certified B Corp and privacy-enhancing technology company recognized with the PICCASO EU Privacy Award. As a certified privacy data solutions engineer and general counsel of SafePorter, she leads efforts to foster trust around feedback and DEI data between global organizations and their stakeholders.

Rosenberg is a frequent speaker on AI governance and privacy, having moderated sessions at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit on topics such as Indigenous data privacy and sovereignty. Her book, "Practical AI Governance," is published by Kogan Page and provides senior AI, technology, and business leaders with guidance on designing AI governance programs, establishing oversight structures, and future-proofing organizational efforts. A U.S. Navy veteran and advisor to the Institute for Operational Privacy Design, Rosenberg advocates for social entrepreneurship and the implementation of explainability by design in new AI systems.
