Shawn Wayans

Shawn Wayans is an actor, comedian, writer, and producer known for his work in film, television, and stand-up comedy. A member of the Wayans family, he first gained recognition as the resident DJ, performing as SW-1, on the Emmy Award-winning sketch comedy series "In Living Color," which aired on Fox and was created by his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans. The show played a significant role in launching the careers of several prominent entertainers and marked Wayans' transition from behind the turntables to a featured cast member.

Wayans expanded his career by co-starring with his brother Marlon Wayans in "The Wayans Bros.," a sitcom that aired on WB Network for five seasons. The brothers also co-created the series, which became a notable entry in Black television comedy and was the first WB show to be sold into syndication. Wayans further established his presence in comedy by co-writing, producing, and starring in the parody film "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood."

Wayans achieved significant box office success with the horror-comedy spoof "Scary Movie," which he co-wrote, produced, and starred in alongside Marlon and Keenen Ivory Wayans. Wayans also co-created the animated Nickelodeon specials "Thugaboo" and "The Boo Crew," which he directed.
