Shannon Shallcross

Shannon Shallcross is an executive leader, InsurTech founder, and TEDx speaker known for translating complex data science into practical applications within the insurance and healthcare industries. Shallcross has built her career by scaling companies during the data revolution, focusing on insurance and data science innovation.

Before launching her entrepreneurial ventures, Shallcross spent 12 years managing branch sales and service operations across the United States for Amica Insurance, a $7 billion insurance company. This operational experience provided her with insight into the transformative potential of data analytics in the insurance sector.

Shallcross has advised numerous Fortune 500 clients on analytics strategy and co-founded BetaXAnalytics, a company that utilized artificial intelligence to improve healthcare cost and quality. After the company was acquired, she became head of client services for Silicon Valley-based InsurTech Pinpoint Predictive, which leverages big data, deep learning, and behavioral economics to quantify risks for leading property and casualty insurers. In this role, Shallcross works with clients to implement predictive risk propensity scores and quantify savings and loss ratio improvements using Pinpoint's proprietary technology.

Shallcross is active in shaping the broader InsurTech and data science ecosystem. As a TEDx speaker, she has coached leaders and advised InsurTech startups, serving as an advisor and entrepreneur in residence for Brown University's Breakthrough Lab Accelerator. She has appeared on the "We Are InsurTech Women" podcast to discuss framing failure in the property and casualty insurance industry and has been featured at major industry events such as Insuretech Connect in Las Vegas. She has also delivered keynote addresses at regional events, including the Providence Business News Healthiest Employers Awards Program.

Shallcross has served as an appointee for the State of Rhode Island's HIE Advisory Commission, overseeing technology that connects data across healthcare providers statewide. She has been recognized as a Business Women Awards honoree by Providence Business News. Shallcross holds a Master of Science degree in insurance management from Boston University.

In addition to her professional roles, Shallcross is a public speaker on the science of mindset and well-being. Her TEDxProvidence talk explored the impact of gratitude on health, mindset, and relationships.
