Shanice Williams Biography
Shanice Williams is a musical theater actress. The 18-year-old New Jersey native has co-starred in several local productions including "West Side Story," "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," "Seussical" and "Pippin." In 2014, she was nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Musical at the New Jersey Paper Mill Playhouse's Rising Star Awards.
Most recently, Williams landed the coveted role of Dorothy in NBC's 2015 musical telecast, "The Wiz Live!." Williams was chosen following a nationwide search, including open calls in New York and Los Angeles. "The Wiz Live!" also stars a trio of Grammy winners: Stephanie Mills as Aunt Em, Queen Latifah as the Wiz, and Mary J. Blige as Evillene. Three-time Tony nominee and "In Living Color" star, David Alan Grier, was cast as the Cowardy Lion.
