Shane Victorino

Shane Victorino, affectionately known as "The Flyin’ Hawaiian," is a former professional baseball outfielder celebrated for his dynamic play, leadership, and philanthropy. Born in November 1980 in Maui, Hawaii, Victorino played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball with the San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, and Los Angeles Angels. He made his MLB debut in 2003 and quickly established himself as a premier defensive player, earning four Gold Glove Awards and two All-Star selections in 2009 and 2011.

Victorino was instrumental in two World Series championships—first with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008, where he helped lead the team to victory, and later with the Boston Red Sox in 2013, delivering a memorable grand slam in the ALCS. He remains one of the few players in MLB history to hit postseason grand slams for two different teams. Over his career, he maintained a .275 batting average, with 108 home runs and 231 stolen bases.

Off the field, Victorino has been equally impactful. He founded the Shane Victorino Foundation in 2010, dedicated to supporting underserved youth in Hawaii and Philadelphia through educational and recreational programs. His community work has earned him honors such as the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award and the Branch Rickey Award. A proud Eagle Scout, he continues to champion youth development and sports initiatives, most recently through donations supporting West Maui programs. Victorino officially retired in 2018 and remains a beloved figure in both the sports world and his local communities, known for his energy, generosity, and enduring legacy.
