Sergio Pérez

Sergio Pérez is a Mexican Formula One driver recognized for his resilience and longevity in motorsport. Pérez made his Formula One debut as the first Mexican driver in the series in three decades, following Héctor Rebaque. He is known for his skillful tire management and ability to perform under challenging race conditions, accumulating more points than any other Mexican in Formula One history.

Pérez established his reputation in British Formula 3 before advancing through the junior racing ranks. He entered Formula One with Sauber and later competed for teams including McLaren and Force India/Racing Point, where he secured his first Formula One race victory at the Sakhir Grand Prix. This win marked the first time a Mexican driver claimed a Formula One victory in half a century, following Pedro Rodríguez’s achievement at Spa-Francorchamps.

Pérez joined Red Bull after being selected over Alex Albon, contributing significantly to the team’s championship campaigns. He achieved victories at the Monaco, Saudi Arabian, and Azerbaijan Grands Prix, finished second in the drivers’ standings, and played a key role in Red Bull’s first one–two finish in the championship. His tenure at Red Bull concluded with six race wins, three pole positions, 12 fastest laps, and 39 podium finishes.

After his time with Red Bull, Pérez joined the Cadillac Formula One team, bringing his extensive experience to a new project. He has described the opportunity as a chance to apply his knowledge and enjoy the sport anew. Pérez maintains a strong fan base in Mexico, and his ongoing presence in Formula One continues to reinforce his status as a leading figure in international motorsport.
