Scott Kahan, MD, MPH Biography
Dr. Scott Kahan is a physician specializing in weight management, preventive medicine, and public health.
Dr. Kahan serves as Director of the National Center for Weight and Wellness in Washington, DC, the Medical Director of the George Washington University Strategies to Overcome and Prevent (STOP) Obesity Alliance, and the Chair of the Clinical Committee for The Obesity Society (TOS).
He is on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) and OAC. He has received numerous awards, including the OAC Healthcare Provider Advocate of the Year and The Obesity Society’s 2017 Clinician of the Year. Dr. Kahan was the Chair of the 2019 Convention Program Agenda Committee.
He has faculty appointments at Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University, and George Mason University. In addition to patient care, he works alongside many others in the public health and health policy fields to help make it just a little easier to be healthy in our society.
