Sawyer Fredericks

Sawyer Fredericks is an Americana and folk-blues singer-songwriter who gained national recognition as the winner of Season 8 of NBC's "The Voice." Under the guidance of coach Pharrell Williams, Fredericks set iTunes sales records and became the youngest male winner in the competition's history at age 16. He was also the first contestant to have all of his live show performances reach the Top 10 on the iTunes Chart. Fredericks' win marked the first for Williams as a coach on the show.

Originating from his family farm in central New York State, Fredericks began performing at age 13, appearing at local farmers markets, open mics, and notable New York venues such as Caffe Lena, the Towne Crier Cafe, and The Bitter End. Prior to his appearance on "The Voice," Fredericks recorded a demo of six original songs and released his independent debut studio album, "Out My Window," featuring 15 original tracks. His music draws from traditional folk roots, emphasizing storytelling and authentic songwriting.

Following his victory on "The Voice," Fredericks signed with Republic Records and released the album "A Good Storm." He later transitioned to independent artistry, releasing the albums "Hide Your Ghost" and "Flowers for You." "Flowers for You" was recognized in No Depression Readers' 50 Favorite Roots Music Albums, and two songs from the album received top honors at the Independent Music Awards: "Born" in the Folk/Singer-Songwriter category and "Amen" in the Social Action Song category.

Fredericks' EP, "The Golden Tree," features collaborations with his band and members of The Accidentals. He has performed at venues including City Winery locations in Boston, Nashville, Chicago, and New York City, as well as The Music Hall in Portsmouth and Ayurprana Listening Room in Asheville. Fredericks has appeared at festivals such as Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and has participated in official showcases at SXSW, AmericanaFest, Folk Alliance International, and BMI's Island Hopper Songwriter Fest. When not touring, Fredericks continues to compose new music and engage with his audience through livestream events, maintaining a presence in the Americana and folk-blues music scenes.
