Sasha Pieterse

Sasha Pieterse is a South African-born American actress and singer known for her work in television, film, and music. Pieterse began her career at age four, appearing in modeling and commercials before moving to theatrical roles. She starred as Buffy in the TV show "Family Affair" alongside Tim Curry and Gary Cole at age six, earning a Young Artist Award for her performance. Pieterse gained early recognition for her role as Marissa Electricidad/Ice Princess in the film "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl" and appeared in series including "House" and "Heroes."

At 13, Pieterse was cast as Alison DiLaurentis in the Freeform teen drama "Pretty Little Liars," a role she portrayed throughout the series and its spin-off, "Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists." Her work on the show earned her a Teen Choice Award. Pieterse held a regular role in the series for the first four seasons before becoming a main cast member in the fifth season.

Outside the "Pretty Little Liars" franchise, Pieterse has appeared in films such as Disney Channel's "Geek Charming," teen comedy "G.B.F.," indie film "Burning Bodhi," drama films "Coin Heist" and "The Honor List," and the psychological thriller "The Image of You." She played Japonica Fenway in the Paul Thomas Anderson film "Inherent Vice," based on the novel by Thomas Pynchon. In "The Image of You," Pieterse portrayed identical twins Anna and Zoe, exploring themes of sibling relationships and deception.

Pieterse has openly discussed her diagnosis with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), sharing her experiences with weight management and health challenges. She has hosted the podcast "Women in The Nude," which features interviews on personal growth, health, and celebrity experiences, with episodes available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.

In addition to her acting career, Pieterse has released several singles, describing her music as country with southern rock influences. Her cookbook, "Sasha in Good Taste: Recipes for Bites, Feasts, Sips & Celebrations," published by HarperCollins, offers recipes, party planning tips, DIY projects, and dessert ideas. Pieterse is also co-founder and co-CEO of Hippie Water, a female-led brand producing hemp-derived THC-infused tonics, inspired by her PCOS management and interest in mindful alternatives to traditional alcohol.
