Sarah Ellis

Sarah Ellis is a career development expert and entrepreneur recognized for her work on the future of work and non-linear career paths. Ellis is the co-founder of Amazing If, a career development company focused on making work better for everyone. The company centers its approach on the concept of squiggly careers, which emphasizes that modern careers are no longer linear and traditional growth ladders are less relevant.

Before launching Amazing If, Ellis developed her commercial expertise at several major UK organizations. She began her career on the Business Management Leadership Scheme at Boots, then moved into roles at GlaxoSmithKline, Barclaycard, and Barclays, where she specialized in proposition development. Her experience also includes leadership roles at Sainsbury's and serving as managing director at Gravity Road, a creative company within the You & MrJones group. Ellis holds an MBA with distinction from Harvard, London, and Warwick Business Schools, is a qualified professional coach, and a mental health first aider.

Ellis co-founded Amazing If with Helen Tupper, building a significant presence in publishing and media. Together, they authored three Sunday Times bestsellers: "The Squiggly Career," "You Coach You," and "Learn Like a Lobster." "The Squiggly Career" explores how frequent and fluid movement between roles, industries, and locations is becoming standard in the modern workforce. Their TEDx talk, "The Best Career Path Isn't Always a Straight Line," has reached a wide audience, and their weekly "Squiggly Careers" podcast has attracted millions of downloads, featuring thought leaders such as Steven Bartlett, Amy Edmondson, and Bruce Daisley.

Amazing If collaborates with organizations including Microsoft, Google, BBC, The Lego Group, Screwfix, and Visa to help employees develop skills for navigating squiggly careers. In addition to her work at Amazing If, Ellis serves on the Makers Advisory Board, contributes to Harvard Business Review, and is a Fellow of the RSA. She is also co-chair of the Mayor of London Workspace Advisory Board.
