Sara Haines

Sara Haines is an American television host and journalist with a career spanning network news, daytime talk, and primetime game shows. Haines began her career in the NBC Page Program and later became the production coordinator for NBC's "Today" at Rockefeller Center. After graduating from Smith College, she moved to New York to pursue a career as a comic actress, joining the NBC Page Program as an entry point into the television industry. She later hosted "Backstage Pass," the entertainment video blog for "Today," where she interviewed a range of celebrity entertainers, actors, and musicians. Haines was also part of the fourth hour of "Today" alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

Haines joined ABC News as a correspondent and served as the pop news anchor for the weekend editions of "Good Morning America." She became a permanent co-host on "The View" in the show's 20th season, contributing a grounded perspective to the panel. Haines went on to co-host "GMA Day," later renamed "Strahan and Sara," with Michael Strahan, and then "GMA3: Strahan, Sara and Keke" with the addition of Keke Palmer.

Haines returned to "The View" as a frequent guest co-host and later rejoined the show as a permanent co-host. She is also a correspondent on ABC's hidden camera show "What Would You Do?" and has hosted the revival of the primetime game show "The Chase" on ABC. Haines appeared as herself in the Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," interviewing the character John Walker.

Haines has received multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host, as well as nominations for Outstanding Morning Program and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host. She also received an Image Award nomination for Outstanding Host in a Talk or News/Information Series. In recognition of her contributions to journalism and television, the mayor of Newton, Iowa, proclaimed September 18 as Sara Haines Day. Haines is recognized for her work in broadcast journalism, daytime television, and game show hosting, consistently delivering commentary and interviews across major television platforms.
