Sandy Honig

Sandy Honig is a comedian, director, and photographer whose work spans television, film, live performance, and visual art. Honig's style often incorporates absurd and improvisational humor, influenced by her experience in New York's alternative comedy scene before relocating to Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photo and Imaging from New York University, and her formal training in photography informed her early creative pursuits, including work in photo departments in New York City. Honig began her comedy career through improv jams and comedy shows at theaters in New York.

Honig is recognized for co-creating, writing, directing episodes of, and starring in the comedy series "Three Busy Debras" on Adult Swim and HBO Max. She plays one of the three Debras, depicted as the self-proclaimed leader of the group, in the series developed with Alyssa Stonoha and Mitra Jouhari. The show, executive produced by Amy Poehler among others, aired on Adult Swim for two seasons. Prior to the series, the trio wrote two full-length plays, one of which was performed at Carnegie Hall. Honig also directed episodes in the show's second season.

Honig has contributed as a writer on "The Eric Andre Show" and the "Ren & Stimpy" reboot. Her film appearances include "Isn't It Romantic," and she has produced and directed short projects such as "Pennies from Heaven," which highlights her blend of comedic and visual storytelling. Honig has also served as a host on VICE LIVE. As a live performer, she continues to present her comedic work on stages across Los Angeles.

Honig's photography has received recognition, including the Tobias Award and selection as one of PhotoBoite's 30 Under 30 Women Photographers. Her work has appeared in publications such as New York Magazine, VICE, Vulture, Refinery 29, The Village Voice, and Buzzfeed, and she was a staff photographer and writer for Rookie Magazine. Honig participated in the Rising Waters exhibition at The Museum of The City of New York, featuring photographs from Hurricane Sandy. Her ongoing project, SandyStock, features uniquely specific stock photos. Honig's career reflects a broad creative range across comedy, television writing, and photography.
