Sandy Brondello

Sandy Brondello has made a name for herself as both a player and a prominent coach in women's basketball. She was a WNBA All-Star in 1999 and a two-time WNBL All-Star in 1994 and 1995, and she also won the WNBL Most Valuable Player award in 1995. As a player, Brondello represented Australia in four Summer Olympics, earning three medals, including two silvers and one bronze. She further demonstrated her prowess in the sport as the head coach of the Australian women's national basketball team, leading them to a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and a silver medal at the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup.

Brondello's coaching career extends beyond the international stage, with significant contributions to the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is the head coach of the Toronto Tempo and has previously coached the New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury, and San Antonio Silver Stars. Her leadership and strategic prowess were recognized when she was named WNBA Coach of the Year in 2014, the same year she led the Phoenix Mercury to a WNBA Championship. A decade later, she replicated her success, coaching the New York Liberty to win the WNBA Championship in 2024.
